| | It's been another great year rockin' with the fans: at old favorite hang outs, new venues, opening the show for some real rock n roll legends, great Michigan festivals and more. What better way to top it off than in the center of Grand Rapids on New Year's Eve, celebrating the coming Year with an outdoor concert at Rosa Parks Circle. Thanks to our friends at Citadel Communications--Tony Gates and the rest of the gang--and their downtown partners and event sponsors for the invitation, Just Jake will ring in the New Year after a great evening of music by the Plain White T's and Darryl Worley, all out in the park and free of charge. Check out the details of "New Years on the Grand" at www.wlav.com See you there. |
| | This just in , the band will be opening for Edgar Winter at
the Intersection in Grand Rapids, August 4th . Come on down and join us as we help welcome Edgar and his band to town. |
| | It's time again for one of the premier acoustic events of the summer, the "3rd Annual Back Deck Acoustic Music Fest" in Croton, MI. After playing to a packed crowd last year, both Dana Cooper and David Hardin will be back in town to headline this year's event--two great talents you won't want to miss. Dana is based in Nashville, David in Maine, and both will be in Michigan for the July 27 free concert on the sun-drenched back deck of the Driftwood Bar & Grill. Also playing that day are local favorites Roger Harcourt, Drew Nelson, and the Music Club. Music plays 2 to 10pm. The location address is 7456 Croton-Hardy Dr, Newaygo, MI, phone is 231.652.2686. See you there! |

| | Hey all, hope everyone is feeling
good and ready for the warmer
weather ahead. Time to update
our friends with news and
reviews from the Just Jake
Band. Maybe you heard the Jake
play live in studio
recently on WYCE, it was an
enjoyable afternoon with
DJ Joe LaRoach as we shared a
few songs to help with the
annual fundraiser for this
very worthy radio station.
In between live on-air Jake
songs, Joe spun a few tunes
from our friends: national
recording artists
Dana Cooper, out of Nashville,
and David Hardin, based in
Texas, two talented singer-
songwriters who tour through
the area from time to time.
This summer you can see them
both on the same stage, as
the double headliner for the
2nd Annual All Day Acoustic
Deck Fest at the Driftwood
Bar & Grill in Newaygo.
Filling out the bill is
Roger Harcourt from
Traverse City, Drew Nelson
from Grand Rapids, and
the Just Jake acoustic
offshoot, The Music Club.
Check the schedule page
for more information.
See you further on up
the road... |

Get ready for some great acoustic music folks! Dana Cooper, a good friend of the Jake and a phenomenal singer/songwriter is heading up to Michigan after finishing up his European tour. Dana will be headlining the All Day Back Deck Acoustic Music Fest at the Driftwood Bar & Grill in Newaygo, MI on July 23rd. The acoustic offshoot of Just Jake, "The Music Club", will be opening the show along with our friends from Cruel Moon. For those not familiar with Dana's music, he is a talented musician originally from Independence, Missouri who came to national prominance during his years playing throughout Texas (including an acclaimed appearance on Austin City Limits with longtime partner Shake Russell). He is touring in support of his latest CD "Made of Mud", recorded in Nashville where he now resides. Check out his stuff at www.danacoopermusic.com ...this will be really great show...join us!

| | The band was happy to find out that they will be returning this April to the Harvard Tavern. Apparently the warrents have expired and the bands now free to return . For old time friends of the Jake, they will remember the great parties at the Harvard from years back. For the band it will be like goin home again. The Harvard is located on Harvard Road , one mile north of M-57 between Rockford and Greenville Mi. Come on out and get an education with us at the Harvard. |
| | Well here we are ...spring 2006 and yet it will take on the flavor of spring 2005 . It's seems that that band again will get the distinct pleasure of opening for, the Master of Space and Time, himself LEON RUSSELL . the show is scheduled for April 12th at the Intersection Bar in downtown Grand Rapids. This show will be followed by a show headlined by Savoy Brown featuring Kim Simmonds, also at the Intersection on May 3rd , again the Jake will be part of that show as well. Come on out and welcome Leon and Savoy Brown to town. |
| | Greetings to our friends from The Just Jake Band. Just a short note to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season with best wishes for the coming New Year. As The Jake looks back over 2005 we are left with fond memories of a year filled with much appreciated old friends at our familiar and welcoming venues. Always good to see the longtime music enthusiasts come out and join the party at our regular stops throughout the year. It was another great summer for the festival season too, with The Jake entertaining crowds north to south, from the Mackinaw Beer & Wine Festival to the Taste of Grand Rapids at John Ball Park and many great gatherings in between. We'd like to make mention of the many private celebrations The Jake has been invited to play, and certainly we can't close out our list of notable gigs without a word about sharing the stage with renowned talent such as Marshall Crenshaw, Honey Tribe featuring Devon Allman of the legendary Allman family, Savoy Brown, and Leon Russell-the Master of Space and Time himself.
We look forward to a bright new year, filled with an expanding roster of festivals reaching further into neighboring states and continuing the trend of opening for national classic rock acts on tour through the region.
Peace to all,
The Jake |
| | Festivals and friends highlight the year 2004 for The Just Jake Band.
During the long summer days, the Jake could be found criss-crossing the region - many times playing more than one festival a day as the Jake fans, new and old, soaked in the sun, rocked along with the tunes, and enjoyed the many different offerings that each city's celebration had to offer.
While the year's festivals certainly kept us busy, there was still plenty of fun to be had at our favorite pubs and clubs along the way. With decades of road experience among the members of the band, the Jake has had the pleasure of befriending many great musicians over all that time. The past year was especially notable in the fact that several of those great friends stopped in to say hello and sometimes lent their talents to a song or two for the evening. The Jake's loyal fans know that the set list is never predictable anyway, and those evenings when a guest artist joined in, there's definitely an extra kick of flavor and always a pleasant surprise for the crowd.
On another note, opening for Boston at the Deltaplex tailgater warmed up the concertgoers and started the party right, and how'd you guys like that Wednesday Night Blues Series at Tequila Willy's? It was lots of fun for the Jake to dive a little deeper into the blues side of things while our longtime fans came out to enjoy several consecutive gigs with us and new fans let us know we were welcome to ease them through the midweek blues anytime.
This past year also brought an acoustic offshoot of The Just Jake Band. The Music Club is a scaled back, low key version of the Jake appearing frequently in area acoustic venues.
And last but not least, we can't neglect to put a mention in of all the fantastic private parties the Jake was invited to play, from the fun folks at the Crystal Lake Yacht Club to the crazy costumed dancers at the Big Halloween Bash at the Krupp's farm and everything in between, the Jake really enjoyed being a part of your excellent gatherings.
So thanks, everyone for a memorable 2004. Time now to look ahead and plan for another interesting year with the Jake. Check out the schedule link to catch The Just Jake Band at a location near you.
Rock on!
